Ursula Meissner worked for the German television station „ZDF“ in Southeast Asia, before she exchanged her typewriter for a camera. In Afghanistan she got directly involved into the war for the first time. Since then she returned 15 times.

Photos out of conflict areas and war-zones
Her first photo report showed the siege of Sarajewo in August 1992. 15 years ago she started to travel to war- zones and conflict areas all over the world, where she works as a freelance photographer. From Afghanistan to Sierra Leone, from the Kosovo to Iraq: She shows the faces of the victims of military conflicts and humanitarian disasters. She received serveral awards for her pictures, which get published all over the world.
